Creating and Managing Lesson Plans

Lesson plans help teachers organize their weekly curriculum and daily activities. You can create plans for each classroom, assign activities to specific days, and share plans with your team.

Creating a Lesson Plan

1. 1Go to Curriculum in the left sidebar and open the Lesson plans tab.
2. 2Select the classroom and the week you want to plan.
3. 3Click Create Weekly Plan.
4. 4Add activities for each day. Include the title, duration, description, materials, and learning domains.
5. 5Click Save.

Organizing Activities

• Group activities by time of day (morning circle, free play, afternoon).
• Tag activities with developmental domains (Language, Math, Science, Art, Motor).
• Click Copy last week to start from the previous week's plan.
• Add notes for substitute teachers or assistants.

Importing a Plan from a Spreadsheet

If your curriculum already lives in a spreadsheet, you can import a week instead of typing it in.

1. 1On the Lesson plans tab, click Import from CSV.
2. 2Click Download sample CSV to see the format. The columns are day, title, duration, description, materials, and domains. Only day and title are required.
3. 3Choose what the import should do: Add to this week keeps what you have and skips anything already in the week. Replace this week clears the week and uses only the file.
4. 4Choose your CSV file.
5. 5Read the summary that appears. It tells you if any rows were skipped and why.
6. 6Review the imported activities and click Save.

Start Times

Every activity has an optional start time next to its duration. When you set one, the plan shows the full window, such as 8:30 to 9:15 AM, in the editor, on the weekly view, and on the plan parents see. Activities without a start time look the same as before.
