CACFP Meal Tracking

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) reimburses meals only when the records are right: who was present, what was served, when, and each child's eligibility. Meals in Neztio keeps those four things together.

Daily Tab: Log Meals

1. 1Go to Meals in the left sidebar. The Daily tab shows today, with each room's Present, Logged and Missing counts per meal.
2. 2Click Log next to the meal: Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack or Dinner (Supper).
3. 3Every checked-in child is selected; untick anyone who was not served.
4. 4Check the CACFP components served, the Time served and the Default amount (None, Some, Most or All), and save. Items from today's menu are filled in for you.
5. 5The meal shows All logged. Missing counts tell you what is still to record before the day ends.

Eligibility Tab

Each child has a Category (Free, Reduced or Paid), a Determination date and an Expiration date. Click a child to edit them. Children near or past expiration are the ones to chase before the next claim. See Tracking CACFP Eligibility.

Claims Tab

Choose a month and click Generate Claim to add up reimbursable meals by category, with warnings for anything that will not count. Download the file for your sponsor. See CACFP Monthly Claims.

Setup Tab

Enter your Provider ID and Sponsor Name, tick the meals you serve and set each meal's service window. The other tabs stay locked until setup is complete.

Requirements

• CACFP tracking is included in the Standard plan and higher.
• A child must be checked in that day for a meal to count.
• A meal must be logged inside its service window.
• Keep your records for at least three years plus the current year, as CACFP requires.
