In this article

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requires accurate meal records. Neztio's built-in CACFP tracking lets you log meals in real time and generate the reports you need for reimbursement submissions.

Daily Tab: Log Meals

  1. 1Go to Meals in the left sidebar.
  2. 2The Daily tab is shown by default. Select the date (defaults to today).
  3. 3Select the meal type: Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack, or Dinner.
  4. 4For each child, record their portion: full, half, or small. You can also mark a child as absent or excused.
  5. 5Click Save. The meal record is stored and used for claims.

Eligibility Tab

The Eligibility tab lets you view and set each child's CACFP eligibility status: free, reduced, or paid. You can calculate eligibility based on income information and export eligibility data for reporting.

Claims Tab

The Claims tab is where you generate reimbursement claims based on your meal records. You can view claim history and export claims for submission to your sponsoring organization.

Setup Tab

Use the Setup tab to configure your CACFP provider ID, select which meals are enabled at your center, and link children to CACFP tracking.

Requirements

  • CACFP tracking requires the cacfpTracking entitlement (Standard or Growth plan)
  • Children must be present and served to be counted in meal totals
  • Meal times must fall within CACFP-approved service windows
  • Records must be kept for at least three years plus the current year

Log meals in real time as they are served rather than at the end of the day. Real-time logging is more accurate and is preferred by CACFP reviewers.
