Kiosk Mode

Kiosk mode turns a tablet into a self-service check-in station. Parents enter their PIN or scan a QR code at the front desk to check their children in and out. No staff interaction is needed. The kiosk is a web application, not a separate native app.

What You Need

  • An iPad or Android tablet with a recent OS version
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection
  • A tablet stand or wall mount (recommended)
  • A web browser (Safari or Chrome) open to your center's kiosk page

Setting Up Kiosk Mode

  1. 1Open a web browser on the tablet (Safari or Chrome).
  2. 2Navigate to care.neztio.com/kiosk, or launch the kiosk from the button on your admin dashboard.
  3. 3The kiosk check-in screen loads and is ready for parents to use.
  4. 4Use Guided Access (iOS) or Screen Pinning (Android) to lock the browser so parents cannot navigate away.
  5. 5Place the tablet at your desired location.

How Parents Use the Kiosk

  1. 1The parent walks up to the kiosk tablet.
  2. 2They enter their PIN or scan a QR code.
  3. 3The kiosk shows their children with status pills (checked in, checked out, absent, not checked in).
  4. 4For multi-child families, parents can tap to toggle which children to include.
  5. 5They tap to check in all selected children at once (batch check-in) or mark a child as absent.
  6. 6A confirmation screen appears, and the kiosk resets for the next parent.

If the optional signature capture feature is enabled (kioskSignature feature flag), parents will be prompted to sign on the screen during check-in or check-out.

Keep the tablet plugged in at all times. A dead battery means no check-ins. Use a charging stand to keep it powered throughout the day.
