QR code check-in lets parents check their children in and out by scanning a QR code using the Neztio parent app. It is a fast, contactless way to handle drop-off and pickup.
How It Works
- Parents open the Neztio parent app on their phone.
- They tap the Check-In quick action to open the camera.
- They scan the QR code posted at the center.
- The app triggers a check-in or check-out via the parentCheckIn/parentCheckOut Cloud Functions based on the child's current status.
- Staff see the update on the Attendance page in real time.
Parent App QR Scanning Flow
- 1The parent opens the Neztio app and taps the Check-In quick action on the home screen.
- 2The app opens the device camera for QR code scanning.
- 3The parent points the camera at the QR code.
- 4If the child is not checked in, a check-in is recorded. If the child is already checked in, a check-out is recorded.
- 5A confirmation is shown in the app, and the Attendance page updates for staff.
QR code check-in is also supported via the kiosk at your front desk. See the Kiosk Mode article for details on setting up a self-service check-in station.
Troubleshooting
- Code not scanning: Make sure the printed code is flat, well-lit, and not crumpled.
- Wrong child checked in: The parent may have multiple children. The app prompts them to select which child to check in.
- Parent cannot scan: Verify they have the latest version of the Neztio app and camera permissions enabled.
