Preparing CACFP Claims

CACFP claims are monthly reports you submit to your sponsoring organization to receive meal reimbursement. Neztio calculates your claim based on attendance records, meal counts, and each child's eligibility category.
Generating a Claim
- 1Go to Meals > Claims.
- 2Select the month you want to claim.
- 3Click Generate Claim. Neztio calculates meal counts by eligibility category for each day.
- 4Review the claim summary: total meals served by type (breakfast, lunch, snack, supper) and by eligibility category.
- 5Make any corrections if meals were recorded incorrectly.
- 6Export the claim in your sponsor's required format.
Claim Requirements
- Children must be checked in on the day a meal is claimed.
- Each meal must meet CACFP component requirements.
- Eligibility records must be current for each child.
Generate your claim in the first week of the following month while the data is fresh. Review any flagged discrepancies before submitting to your sponsor.
