CACFP Monthly Claims

The claim is the monthly count of reimbursable meals by eligibility category. Neztio builds it from the meals your teachers logged and each child's eligibility, so the numbers match your records.

One-Time Setup

1. 1Go to Meals in the left sidebar and open the Setup tab.
2. 2Under CACFP Program Setup, enter your Provider ID (the number from your sponsor or state agency) and Sponsor Name.
3. 3Tick the meals you serve and set the Start and End time for each service window.
4. 4Save. The Daily, Menu, Eligibility and Claims tabs unlock.

Generating the Claim

1. 1Open the Claims tab.
2. 2Choose the Month and click Generate Claim.
3. 3The claim shows Total Meals and an Estimated Reimbursement, with Warnings for anything that will not be reimbursed, such as a meal logged outside its service window or a child with expired eligibility.
4. 4Fix the warnings if you can, generate again, then Download the file for your sponsor. Past claims stay listed with their Generated date.

What Makes a Meal Count

• The child was checked in that day.
• The meal was logged on the Daily tab during the service window.
• The child has a current eligibility determination on the Eligibility tab.

CACFP tracking is included in the Standard plan and higher.
