Neztio automatically applies late fees to overdue invoices through a daily scheduled process. This helps encourage timely payments and reduces the manual work of tracking down overdue balances.

How Late Fees Work

A daily scheduled Cloud Function (applyLateFees) checks for overdue invoices across your center. When an invoice is past its due date, the system automatically adds a late fee. Late fee configuration is part of your billing automation settings.

What Happens When a Late Fee Is Applied

  • The system identifies overdue invoices during its daily check.
  • A late fee is added as a separate line item on the invoice.
  • The parent is notified via the app and email that a late fee has been added.
  • The updated total is reflected on the parent's invoice.

Review your billing automation settings to make sure late fee amounts are configured to match your center's policies.

Waiving Late Fees

You can waive a late fee on a per-invoice basis. Open the invoice, find the late fee line item, and click Waive. The fee is removed and the parent sees the updated total.

Make sure your late fee policy is included in your parent handbook and enrollment agreement. Parents should be informed of the policy before it applies.
