What happens after my trial ends?

Most childcare software locks you out when the trial ends — your data stays hostage until you pay. Neztio does the opposite. If you do not upgrade by day 30, your account automatically converts to our free Starter plan. You keep using Neztio; you just continue on a smaller tier.

What you keep

  • Your account, login, and center stay live — nothing is deleted or archived.
  • All existing classrooms and enrolled children stay accessible, even if you have more than the 15-child Starter cap. We grandfather your existing usage at conversion time.
  • Daily attendance, parent messaging, QR check-in/check-out, and the parent app continue working.
  • Child assessments and developmental tracking remain available.
  • All historical data (attendance records, messages, photos, invoices already created) remains in your account.

What changes

  • You cannot add new children beyond your grandfathered count. The 15-child cap applies only to children added after conversion.
  • Staff accounts, preset enrollment forms, attendance exports, meal planning and CACFP tracking (Standard plan features) become unavailable until you upgrade.
  • Online tuition billing, the full form builder, advanced reports, and the full AI suite (Growth plan features) become unavailable until you upgrade.
  • Multi-site management and API access (Pro plan features) require Pro.

When does the conversion happen?

We run the conversion as a scheduled job at 02:00 UTC the day after your 30-day trial expires. You will see a banner inside the app the next time you log in confirming the change. There is no warning lockout, no read-only grace period — the conversion is the safety net itself.

Can I come back and upgrade later?

Yes — at any time. Open Billing from the left sidebar and choose a plan. Upgrading restores access to the features in that tier immediately. No data import, no re-onboarding, no setup fees. Your existing classrooms and children are already there.

How is this different from other vendors?

Most childcare software puts you on a paid trial and locks your account when the trial ends until you provide payment — your data stays inside their system but you cannot operate. Neztio's approach is different: trials are unpaid (no credit card), and if you do not upgrade we keep your account live on the free Starter tier rather than locking it. This is intentional — we want directors to evaluate Neztio without deadline anxiety, and we want our free tier to be a real product, not a bait-and-switch.

If you are evaluating Neztio against other vendors, ask each one: 'If I do not pay at trial end, what happens to my data and my account?' The answer tells you a lot about how the vendor treats customers.

What if I want to delete my account entirely?

You can request full account deletion at any time by emailing hello@neztio.com from the email on file. We process deletions within 30 days. All data is permanently removed; this cannot be reversed. Most centers do not need to delete — staying on Starter is free and keeps the option open in case you come back.
