Tracking Allergens

Neztio matches the allergens on food items against the allergen tags on each child, and warns you when a menu you are about to assign contains a conflict.

Tagging a Child's Allergens

1. 1Go to Enrollments in the left sidebar and open the child's profile.
2. 2On the Overview tab, find Health Information and click Edit.
3. 3Under Allergen Tags, tick each one that applies: Dairy, Gluten, Nuts, Eggs, Soy, Fish, Shellfish, Sesame or Other.
4. 4Use the Allergies box for the details staff need: severity, symptoms, the action plan and where the medication is kept.
5. 5Save.

Tagging Food Items

Under Meals, Menu tab, Food Library, each food item has Allergens ticked for what it contains. The check only works when both sides are tagged.

What the Warning Looks Like

When you assign a menu template to a day or use Bulk assign, Neztio shows Allergen Conflicts Found, listing each child, the item and the meal. Cancel to change the menu, or Assign Anyway if the kitchen will substitute for that child.

Allergen tracking is part of Meals, included in the Standard plan and higher.
