Smart ratio alerts continuously monitor your staff-to-child ratios across all classrooms. When a room approaches or exceeds its allowed ratio, the system sends real-time alerts so you can take action before a violation occurs.

How Ratio Monitoring Works

Neztio calculates the real-time ratio in each classroom based on the number of checked-in children and the number of staff currently assigned to that room. Ratios are compared against the limits you configured for each classroom's age group.

Alert Levels

  • Green: The room is well within its ratio limit. No action needed.
  • Yellow (Warning): The room is within one child of reaching its ratio limit. Consider assigning an additional staff member.
  • Red (Critical): The room has exceeded its allowed ratio. Immediate action is required to reassign staff or move children.

What to Do When an Alert Fires

  1. 1Check the coverage map to identify which room triggered the alert.
  2. 2Review unassigned or floater staff who can be moved to the affected room.
  3. 3Reassign a staff member to the room to bring the ratio back into compliance.
  4. 4If no staff are available, consider temporarily merging groups or adjusting classroom capacity.

Set up your ratio limits to match your state's licensing requirements exactly. Neztio alerts are only as accurate as the limits you configure.

Ratio alerts are based on real-time check-in data. If attendance records are not up to date, alerts may not fire accurately. Ensure all check-ins and check-outs happen promptly.
